Cycling in the Cape ‘winter’

Another great day in Cape Town. As I’ve been trying to tell everyone, winter here is in fact the best time of year to cycle in;-20 degree weather, no wind, lower costs (food and accomodation) and fantastic sunsets.

The morning started with a group road ride of about 80km. I forgot my camera but one of my previous blogs here has a nice photo of where we rode.

Greg from super yacht PinkGin wanted to squeeze in a half day mountain bike ride, so I gladly picked him up

Greg is quite fit besides spending all his time on a yacht so I thought I’d treat him to some hills (all for a good cause-the views are incredible). We ended up riding 35km with a total elevation gain of just under 1500m. A singletrack descent in the dark kept things interesting! Greg hauled up a camera and 2 massive lenses so we’ll have some great photos of his on display soon. In the mean time you can peruse these…
