Hillcrest:
The Olive trees have been pruned back and so it’s a bit messy going there at the moment.
Otherwise all the trails have held up well and the hard (and expensive) work of laying down the reinforcing down ‘elastoplast valley’ has worked a treat.
We still wish there was an option of paying R30 for both Contermanskloof and Hillcrest as they are both a bit too short to do on their own. Mind you if you become a member of Tygerberg mtb club then you can ride them at Hillcrest and Meerendal for free. Bargain? We think so!
We are looking forward to riding the Kliprug trail soon and getting out some new maps of the entire Durbanville area.

Hi Daniel
Just some corrections to your Hillcrest trail report.
The fee to ride either Hillcrest OR Contermanskloof is R25 and not R30. Also, Tygerberg MTB members do NOT ride for free on Contermans, as Contermans is a private trail. Members can however buy a discounted annual permit for Contermans.
Both Hillcrest and Contermans are about 15 kms long - with the new Kliprug trail we have added 7 kms, increasing the distance to 22 kms for both Hillcrest and Contermans. No extra payment is required for Kliprug, but you must buy either a Hillcrest or Contermans permit to ride Kliprug. (Kliprug is joint venture between Contermans and Tygerberg MTB club). Tygerberg MTB club members ride for free on Hillcrest, Kliprug and Meerendal.

Thanks again Braam. I know that the fee to ride is R25 at both venues, but what i was trying to say that it would be nice if the 2 venues could somehow combine so that riders can pay a slightly increased of R30 fee for both trails.
