Trail report -Jonkershoek

Jonkershoek:

Some of the old trails that were burnt last year have been cleared and remade. I don’t think the Elliottii trail(Also known as Mason’s trail I think?) is open yet but the first kilometer has had some work done on it. We can’t wait for this trail to be open again!
The Patula trail (the one that runs near the river, above the dam) is open again and while it is very different from riding it with trees around, it is now an even better trail in our opinion. A little bit technical and hard work riding it in either direction. The trail on the other side of the river (the south side-we don’t know if this has a name yet) was cleared and was fantastic a month ago, but the loggers have been clearing and cutting again there so it is a bit messed up and ugly but still ride-able.

All the other trails have held up really well in the winter and just shows up the quality of trailwork that has been done there. Good job! All we ask is that more sections like the lower Canary trail are added- they are so much fun for begginners and experts alike!
